Mark's involvement in the entertainment scene began at a rare and early age. It was with such passion and dedication for performing on stage during his school days, that his devotion to perform developed as he nurtured an interest in the show business industry. Soon, Mark made his first break and began his modeling career at the age of 14. After being spotted by one of the Singapore’s top modeling agencies, this child prodigy had no way but to move up as his popularity grew to such extent as to become Singapore’s most Sought-after model. He was featured in countless local magazines such as Teenage and Teen.
Because of his popularity in modeling, Mark was approached by then TCS to work together as a TV presenter for a local Chinese variety show, "In Generation", which was targeted at the young and hip. He was also offered to act in his debut drama, "A piece of sky" with TCS 8 and co-starred in his debut movie, Street Angel, all between a hectic 1997 to 1999. Besides being a professional and experienced model-celebrity, Mark has also mastered the art of choreography and through sheer hard work, determination, and humility, achieved mastery in the field of photography and styling by means of self-teaching and experience. It was then that he decided to go into the modeling business and hence, founded his own brand, Mark Chow Entertainment in 1997 and expanded the business within a year with a new division named, Mark Chow Studio House.
It was the entrepreneur in him, at an era when our government was still working a policy of protectionism of its people, that led him to co-found, and direct Chez Image & Modeling (formally known as Chez Vous located at Takashimaya) with widely-respected. It consisted of a makeup studio and a grooming centre, which provided training for all aspiring models to attend their catwalk, and make-up lessons, while image consultation sessions were conducted individually.
To date, he has groomed over 500 aspiring models and discovered titleholders such as Senior Manhunt 99, Mrs. Singapore 01, Supermodel 01, Mr. Singapore 02, Face of the Future 02 & 03, and New Urban Male 03 just for appetizers.
With his technical know-how, experience and knowledge of his line of business, he has produced, choreographed, and contributed to an appalling number editorial shoots, events, fashion shows, and beauty pageants.
Today, Mark continues striving to achieve his aim. The insatiable nature of Mark has warranted his constant searches and endeavors to make outstanding breakthroughs. The passion and devotion towards his all time interests have never wavered all these years.
This explains why he is still actively involved in producing shows and directing shoots despite his hectic schedule.
