Model turned celebrity and entrepreneur. Mark Chow (top) is known as one of the most successful entrepreneur in Singapore. His modeling agency, M. C. Models is one of Singapore top modeling agencies; having nurtured over 500 aspiring models such as Nicole Chen (Miss Earth Singapore 07/08) and Rachel Lee from Mediacorp’s Eye for a Guy. He now directs his own shows while holding a prestigious title of being a Singapore Paranormal Investigator (SPI). Just recently he had one such report on his encounters with the “Monkey God Tree”. With such a prolific career, he must be everyone’s favourite role “model”.

Oops! managed to have a one on one time with him at his event, teaching the basics of modeling to the eager students of Singapore Polytechnic.

He is a multi-talented artiste whose career started off by being a TV host, singer and later, a model. Mark then started a full time modeling agency about 14 years ago which now has a solid 10 years of experience.

“From the speech that you have given just now, I can tell that you have good people skills and a great sense of humor. Where did you get your talents from?”

There was once a producer who wanted to make me Singapore’s very own Jacky, Wu Zong Xian. In my younger days I worked with Marcus chin, Chen Jian Bin. Together, we produced CDs and DVDs, all comedy. We liked being funny and especially enjoyed it when people laugh. It wasn’t easy, but knowing how to be funny is the greatest people skill anyone can have.

“Can you please tell us what is expected of a model and what services do you provide?”

I own a company called M.C. Models. We specialize in grooming various people to become stars that outshine the rest, providing photo-shoot sessions and teaching our models the secret to looking good and thus, giving them confidence. The most important thing for a model however, is the “X-Factor” and the character. It is no use having a gorgeous model that comes in late to work everyday.

“Looks like your business was a success. What are you expecting from years to come?”

M.C. Models is a registered as a trademark. It is a Singapore brand and it is available for franchising. It has a strong reputation within the South East Asian modeling industries. M.C. Models invests in and cooperates with other modeling agencies across the region and the world. Within this few years, I hope to expand my business to other counties like Malaysia and Thailand.

“By seeing my dreams come true, I would like to help others see their dream come true”
